Re: Continuous Quiz: Movies

In David's absence I looked this one up and confirmed my answer to be correct. In a rare screen event, 'The Beguiled' (1971) sees Eastwood's screen character die - poisoned with mushrooms. He also dies in 'Honky Tonk Man' (1981), his character being on his last legs with TB as the film opens. OK, so...

Re: Friday night in Burton (2 December)

Hi Ken,

The pub I've a mind for us to go to doesn't do food. So, however, if you want to give me a bell, or tell me where you're staying, I can offer some tips/suggestions.

Chris

P.S. Are you up for the curry on Saturday?

Re: Sign-up for December's Quiz Grand Prix

So, any more for the skylark this Saturday? I'd like to get the food order in tomorrow evening if possible.

Elsewhere I've posted about Saturday's curry, watch out for details of Friday night revelry too!

Re: Sign-up for December's Quiz Grand Prix

We're looking into it Daniel but for this to happen we need 2 things... 1. A suitable venue, and... 2. An expectation that people will travel there in sufficient numbers to make the event viable. And of course we need a slot in the (already pretty full) calendar. We tend to stay within the bounds of...

Saturday evening, post Grand prix

Sorry, I think we're now full. We have 12 names. I have reserved a table at the excellent Bilash Spice restaurant for 7pm this Saturday for those people looking to go and eat shortly after the Grand Prix concludes. Saturdays are always busy and the restaurant could best accommodate us at the earlie...

Re: Mastermind 2011/2012 Series Discussion

I've often thought that contenders get sets aimed, to an extent, at their own general interests. That being the case, someone whose interests sit closer to one's own will tend to appear "easier" perhaps than those whose interest differ markedly from your's (if that makes any sense?).
