Our first quiz event of 2012 sees a welcome return to the well-appointed Radford Road Social Club in Coventry. The day will see a standard UK Grand Prix individual quiz for ranking points, followed by a team quiz and then a special event.A sign-up thread for this event can be found HERE. While not at all mandatory, it will greatly assist us if you could make payment prior to the event via PayPal. You don't need to even have a PayPal account to make a payment. Just visit the paypal.co.uk website and click on the "send money" button. The address to send it to (when asked for our e-mail address) is email@example.com.
Craig Element and Danielle Cartwright looked after us ever so well when we last made the trip, in April 2010, and the 2012 event promises to be even better. As well as having Craig and Danielle's afternoon team quiz entertainment to look forward to (this year will see an 'Only Connect' element) the event is being extended into the early evening to take in a solo individual international quiz being run by the Karnataka Quiz Club (Bangalore).
The KQA's 'Mindsweep' quiz is one in which you will be able to match your wits against fellow quizzers from around the world (some are taking the quiz on Sunday). As well as conventional questions the quiz will also include some which require a little thinking/reasoning, rather than simple regurgitation of facts. Knowing how well the KQA's annual 'Mahaquizzer' is received in the UK, I am personally really looking forward to 'Mindsweep'. If you are interested in extending your day, you can read more about the inaugural KQA 'Mindsweep' quiz (and the takeway-food we plan to bring in by way of an evening meal), at the foot of this piece.Venue:Radford Road Social Club
