The walk from the centre of Wetherby, with its agreeable-at-lunchtime-but-probably-hideous-on-a-Saturday-night pubs and the famous Wetherby Whaler chip shop, takes you over the A1 and into the side entrance of the course, about a mile from the grandstand. Not a good idea if the going is heavy.

The Big House in Ann Arbor it is. Room for about 114,000 people in there, about 4,000 more than the new Cowboys Stadium, if you include the 'standing where you can't see the game' tickets at the latter. Ticket sales from one home game cover the costs of the entire football programme, supposedly. Off you go, Nick.
