I think that Dario Gradi tried to retire but they had to get him back in (did they have a manager called Steve Davis for a while?) so I will also have a guess : John Still (at Dagenham and Redbridge, I think).

Yes, I remember George was really suffering with his back that day.

Not sure if anyone remembers this but here goes. Different Class was the favourite for the 1968 Grand National and finished third but which Hollywood superstar owned the horse?

He often came over to the UK for big steeplechase meetings
