Coventry GP - Jan 4th 2014

Postby Chris » Fri Dec 20, 2013 5:05 pm

The first Grand Prix Quiz of 2014 (Sat 4th Jan) sees us back in Coventry, and once again we can look forward to another very entertaining afternoon team quiz supplied by our hosts Craig and Danielle.

We are also delighted to be back in the same, superb venue as last year, which also proved to be better for people using public transport, and had better parking besides.

Venue:
Lime Tree Park Working Mens Club
Templar Avenue Coventry, West Midlands CV4 9BQ

Schedule:
11.00 Registration
11.30 Individual Quiz
13.00 Marking
13.45 Lunch - Fish and Chips!
14.45 Team Quiz (everyone will be placed in teams by Chris on the day)
16.15 Prizes and results
16.30 January Hot 100
17.30 Formal event closes

Entry: £25, lunch provided*, £12.50 for first time attendees.

*Anyone with a genuine aversion/intolerance to Fish n Chips is welcome to bring a packed lunch and their entry fee will be discounted by £4. This will need to be agreed beforehand so we don't over-order massively from the chippy!

After the formal close of the event there will be ample opportunity for ad hoc quizzing and then a group will be forming to go for a curry!

A sign-up thread for the event is HERE!

A big thank you once again to everyone who turned out so early in the year, and with the threat of bad weather to boot, making today such a success. Thanks to everyone who helped make it possible... to Jane, as ever, Nic Paul for road-testing the individual set, and of course to Craig and Danielle for their really entertaining and well constructed team quiz (I loved the 'Top Trumps'). And of course a big thank you to the pair of you for securing the splendid venue once more, and for all the effort and trouble involved in organising the fish 'chips luncheon. It was great. Many thanks to you both - I'm looking forward to 10 January 2015 already!

Here are the scores... we allowed all those appeals on Q1 of the Physical World genre!
