All of the October UK Quest Grand Prix scores are in and are now online (link at the foot of this piece). And what a Grand Prix it was!

Doubtless we here in Quizzing Towers add our voices to those of 157 participants across the UK who will thank Jack Bennett for supplying this month’s GP set. From the scores it’s obvious his quiz was one of the most accessible we’ve ever had. While we normally expect circa 20-25% of players to get through the 100-points-barrier, today we had almost 62% break through it.

We heartily congratulate Didier Bruyère who has once more topped the field, with a mahoosive score of 142.5. Runner up was Paul Sinha (140.4), Pat Gibson was third (138.1), with David Hesp (137.8) and Rob Hannah (136.0) completing the top five.

Special shout-outs to Andrew Frazer and Kevin Asman who both aced the main body of the ACH genre. Also of note, Didier Bruyère’s consistency, with three genre scores of 29+, and Pat Gibson denying a clean sweep to the “Davids” on Civilisation :)

Here are the medal positions, by genre.

Gold : 30.4 - Kevin Ashman
Silver : 30.1 - Andrew Frazer
3rd = : 29.5 - Didier Bruyère
3rd = : 29.5 - Rob Hannah

Gold : 29.4 - David Hesp
Silver : 28.7 - David Lea
3rd= : 28.5 - David Stainer
3rd = : 28.5 - Pat Gibson

1st = : 28.2 - Martin Wightman
1st = : 28.2 - Steve Cooke
Bronze : 27.5 - Clive Dunning

Gold : 27.4 - Paul Sinha
Silver : 27.3 - David Lea
Bronze : 27.1 - David Hesp

Gold : 29.3 - Didier Bruyère
Silver : 28.8 - Rob Hannah
Bronze : 28.6 - Pat Gibson

Gold : 29.8 - Didier Bruyère
Silver : 29.5 - Mark Preston
Bronze : 29.3 - Paul Sinha

Many thanks to all of the competitors, and of course to the proctors, for everyone's continued support/help.

Our next UK Grand Prix is the first Saturday in November, i.e. the weekend before this year’s EQC in Venice. Safe journey and “good luck” to all players from the home countries (and beyond) who are making the trip.
